You just want to go somewhere, or just want to do something. I feel like my life’s had too much stagnation, and it’s killing me. I want to learn something fun or interesting, I want to go somewhere wondrous and discover something I’ve never seen or tried before. For example, I feel like sailing/learning to sail would be awesome. Or becoming a better artist through practice. Or go to a foreign coastline and enjoy the experience. I don’t know. I’m just stuck, and it sucks. It feels like I haven’t done anything meaningful or useful with my life so far (which honestly, I really haven’t), and I want to change that. I want to achieve, to work for something. Not just anything, mind you, something I love. I guess it’s wanderlust or whatever you’d like to call it. I’m just tired of sitting here, playing video games, going to work, and going through the same daily routines. I’m sittin’ at the window, watching clouds pass by, it feels. I can do something significant. I know I can.

I find this really awesome looking. Kemetics, is it acceptable to stylize things like so without being disrespectful?
This is REALLY cool.

Seriously, I got really excited for this MMO because 40k is my favorite universe. Story, gameplay (both tabletop and video games), and general atmosphere of how it is. It’s an epic story, more epic and grandiose in scale than anything I’ve encountered so far. To be able to integrate that into an MMO to me would have been pure gold. Some of my ideas I was thinking are quite big and quite a bit, but… I dunno. Just prepare for the amount of nerd that’s about to arrive.
The Imperium
- Imperium of Man, controls many worlds throughout the galaxy, dedicated to Emperor of Mankind/survival and dominance of humanity
- Generally all-rounders, both subsections of the Imperium (Space Marines and Imperial Guard) would have good variety of what gameplay choices and specifications you’d wanna make.
Space Marines
- Superhuman soldiers of humanity, chosen from select few to become part of a Space Marine chapter; generally a stronger, faster, smarter human being who operate in small squads, with a variety of roles
- Classes: Tactical, Assault, Devastator, Librarian. (Grey Knights and other “hero” classes are considered, but would be developed later.)
- Tactical: Basic Space Marine, good variety in weaponry and ability in damage, sort of a jack of all trades, but not necessarily a master of everything, serves as kind of support/ranged DPS kinda deal. Can expand on either, allowing him to become maybe a Veteran or an Apothecary, depending on the route he chooses.
- Assault: Front line fighter, in the face of the enemy with whatever melee weapons they choose, advancing quickly by using their Jump packs. Lacking in ranged capability, playing Assault means maximizing your up-close damage potential. Can branch into Assault Veteran or Vanguard (Melee DPS or Tank DPS, respectively.)
- Devastator: Heavy weapons specialists, designated to lay down the firepower from a distance. Same variety in weaponry as Tactical, just more inclined to whatever specific path they choose, namely Anti-Infantry or Anti-Armor. They have survivability, moreso than the other three, but they don’t have many “getaways” as either of them do, meaning they have to be on their toes a little more. However, at a range, they are the dominant force out of the four.
- Librarian: These trained psykers are adepts of the Warp and understand both its power and its dangers at the same time. They play a lot like Tactical marines do, but instead of focusing on ranged weaponry, they use psyker abilities. They play the role of caster DPS, as well as support, and can specialize towards either one. Their survivability is lower than all the other classes, but has more escapes than all of them, as well. Their ranged damage is between the Devastator and all the other classes. Can branch into either Epistolary or Chief Librarian, the former being support, and the latter being DPS.
That’s it for the Space Marine ideas, and this is just for basic infantry roles. Still gotta cover vehicles, chapter organization, and campaigns (crusades, defenses, etc.)
Incoming huge slate of ideas I had.
